TwistED Science Echuca

Play and learn together through hands-on STEM activities designed primarily for primary-school-aged children and their families, with all ages welcome. Echuca sessions begin at 9.30 am, 11.30 am and 2 pm. Booking ahead is recommended during school holidays. Parties and programs for schools, kinders and homeschool groups are also available.

Echuca Moama Toy Library

Borrow educational toys and play materials while connecting with other member families. Located at 34–36 Heygarth Street, Echuca, the community toy library opens Friday from 9.15 to 10.15 am and Saturday from 10.30 to 11.30 am. Membership terms apply, so check the arrangements before your first visit.

Billabong Ranch Adventure Park

Just outside Echuca, Billabong Ranch offers indoor and outdoor activities for different ages, as well as school and holiday camps. Horse trail rides and camel rides must be booked in advance. The provider states that it operates daily during school holidays and Monday to Saturday in school terms; confirm current activities and arrangements before travelling.

Port of Echuca Spring School Holiday Program

Plan ahead for this family program running from 19 September to 4 October 2026. Scheduled activities include giant games, children’s movies, science activities, circus skills and a StoryWalk with Echuca Library. Sing-along sessions for preschool and early-primary children are listed for 30 September and 3 October. Accessibility varies across the Port site, so contact the venue about individual access needs before attending.

🌱 Early learning and children’s programs

Berrimba Childcare & Early Learning Centre

Njernda provides culturally safe early childhood education and care for Aboriginal children from Echuca and surrounding areas. Berrimba offers long day care, occasional care, three- and four-year-old kindergarten, supported playgroups and Best Start. Rooms cater for babies from six months, toddlers and children aged three to five, with speech therapy available on site. After-school and holiday programs serve children aged 6–12.

KCLC Early Learning Program

Kyabram Community & Learning Centre offers kindergarten and long day care, using community learning spaces such as Jaycee Park, Kyabram Community Garden and Traffic School, and Kyabram Fauna Park. Families enrol through KCLC’s enrolment pathway and can ask the provider for help with enrolment or arrange a walk-through.

Campaspe Shine Bright Kindergartens

Shine Bright EYM operates kindergartens across Campaspe, including services in Echuca, Girgarre, Gunbower, Kyabram, Lockington, Rochester, Stanhope and Tongala. Enrolments for these kindergartens are handled through Campaspe Shire Council’s central registration pathway, rather than directly with an individual kindergarten.

🤝 Parenting, family and youth support

KCLC Family Support Services

Families in Campaspe and Greater Shepparton can access parenting and family support at home, in the community or at KCLC in Kyabram. Help may involve individual support, group sessions or connections with other services. Family Services referrals usually come through The Orange Door. KCLC also describes a short drop-in option for families who need help with a specific concern.

Njernda Family Support Programs

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families can approach Njernda’s Echuca Family Services team for culturally safe assistance. Programs include Boori Gana for Aboriginal mothers and babies, support relating to housing stress, financial hardship or parenting concerns, and intensive one-to-one family support. Yakapna Yakaneyepuk provides a family preservation and reunification response.

Njernda Youth, Children and Community Services

These culturally safe, community-led services support Aboriginal children and young people from early childhood into young adulthood. Programs focus on identity, wellbeing, learning and leadership, with pathways to youth services, early childhood services and Baroona Youth Healing Centre. Youth and Wellbeing Services are based in Echuca.

Anglicare Victoria Navigator – Loddon Campaspe

Navigator provides targeted help with education re-engagement; it is not a teaching service. It supports eligible young people aged 12–17 who attended less than 30% of the previous school term and live in, or were most recently enrolled in, a Navigator area. Case managers work with young people, families, carers and schools. A Junior Navigator pilot may support some children aged 10–11 through the existing eligibility and referral process.

Campaspe Psychology

Based at River Kids Therapy Clinic in Echuca, this paediatric psychology practice provides therapeutic support and assessments for children, teenagers and their families, including those from surrounding areas. Its approach is neurodiversity-affirming and collaborative with families. Campaspe Psychology does not provide immediate crisis or emergency support.

Children’s Health and Wellbeing Local – Loddon

Campaspe-resident children aged 0–11, along with their families and carers, can access this free regional service based in Kangaroo Flat. No referral is required, but support is appointment-based. Assistance can address developmental, emotional, relational and behavioural concerns, drawing on relevant child and family health professionals. Individual parent or carer support and group parenting programs may also be offered. It is not a crisis service.

📌 Family violence and children’s wellbeing access

The Orange Door – Echuca

The Orange Door is a free Victorian Government access point for adults, children and young people experiencing family violence, as well as families needing help with children’s wellbeing. No referral or appointment is required. The Echuca service is at 486 High Street and operates during business hours from Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
